New Fire Truck for Westlock
The Town of Westlock Fire Department is starting to plan for getting a new ladder truck. In an interview with the Westlock News, deputy chief Dan Lucyk says the department's 30-year old truck is starting to show its age. While it still runs fine, ongoing maintenance costs are starting to add up. Lucyk also points out that while the 60-foot ladder was good enough 30 years ago, it's starting to get too short for some of the newer developments in Westlock. A new truck could cost anywhere between $150,000 and $1.5 million, and the fire department is only just beginning to explore its options.
